Interior Design Lesson: Psychology - Celebrity Edition

On today's video, I walked you through breaking down celebrity decisions & results, in terms of understanding how they choose to have their homes designed & represent who they are. If you didn't see the video, you can watch it here. We worked backwards by looking at the interior photos of a specific celebrity's home and discussed understanding the direction and the choices made it that space. I chose this celebrity (not sharing the name here, as it's part of the challenge in the video.) because they don't have the more expected over the top, trendy, luxe home design. They have a design that so strongly showcases their unique personality.

Todays blog post is going to be a bonus portion of that Interior design lesson or exercise. I am going to post the photos - courtesy of Architectural Digest - of this celebs home, and you will go a little deeper into identifying key design elements that really emphasize this particular celebrity clients unique personality.

Bonus exercise:

Use a screenshot application that you can use to mark up an image, or download one of the room images from this post & mark it up on Canva, Photoshop or Sketchup.

• One image should have markups that consist of pointing out material trends.

• One image should circle decorative items that represent this celebrity's personality specifically - with a comment next to it explaining how that item tells a story about the client/celebrity.

• And one image...should point to things you would CHANGE in that room, if it were a different celebrity client with very different personality & style. Explain your choices & selections, and clearly state who your new celebrity client is and what their personality is that you believe needs to be showcased.
